Na-maka Reaver

I was reading some islander mythology about the fire goddess Pele and her water goddess sister Na-maka-o-Kaha’i. The concept of deities has always been a hot one for me, and the ways in which to render such infinitely interpretable beings are limitless. Polynesian mythology in particular seems so vibrant. So here is Na-maka, updated, so to speak, and fully armed.

Na-maka Clean

PS lighting filters are nice, but let’s not kid ourselves here. Here be a cleaner sea goddess. Na-maka-o-Kaha’i Lite. Sans aforementioned bells & whistles.

Seth Complete

I…think…i’m done coloring this…. I wasn’t too creative with the colors (over Thysel’s original palette) but the original scheme seemed so right, I didn’t feel like being brave or original Once again, original character and concept belongs to I just made this cos i think her stuff is….is…SMASHING! yes, smashin’. Peace

Seth Lineart

I’ve been itchin’ to do a quickie of one of ‘s characters. Her style allows for some wacky, kinetic figures, and her character design is uber-inspiring. So here’s some dirty, filthy lineart I need to clean up my scanner (as well as my inks ) Given time, I might try my hand at coloring it, but for now, b/w all

Overdriven

suggested i do a desktop of this one. I submitted the original piece “Overburdened” back in january but something never seemed 100% about it, but i loved how the linework and marker work turned out….some stuff doesn’t translate well when you try to color it. Still, it was a fun piece and i liked the musical ties it had for

Eko revisited

did the pencils a week or two ago, and a few of y’all encouraged me to try coloring it. I kinda distracted myself with TV while I was colorin it, but it looks alright-ish so yep, that’s my posts for the day. gotta love the Eko.
